Career Development
Career Support for International Students
At Jissen Women's University, we are committed to supporting the career
development of international students.
Led by the Career Support Office, and in collaboration with CLEIP (Center for
Language Education and International Programs) and the International Affairs
Division, we offer services such as internship placement, company visits, and career
seminars.
Studying abroad is not only about attending classes—it is also a valuable opportunity
to understand Japanese workplaces and work culture.
In addition to language acquisition and academic studies, we emphasize support that
helps students gain experience in Japanese work settings and prepare for future
careers.
We also offer career counseling and various events for students who wish to work in
Japan or at Japanese-affiliated companies in their home countries after graduation.
Paid Internship Opportunities
Paid internships require a minimum of JLPT N2 proficiency.
Interested students will have a consultation with the Career Support Office to discuss their preferred industries and job types and then be introduced to suitable internship opportunities.
Please note that the host companies conduct their own selection process for internship applicants.
Example Internship Sites
• Japanese language schools
• Hotels, etc.
Arranged Company Visits
Company visits are arranged several times a year. Interested students can visit companies mainly located in the Shibuya area.
These visits help deepen understanding of Japanese corporate culture and work styles. Occasionally, interviews with employees are conducted to provide deeper insights into working life in Japan.
Career Development Seminars by the Career Support Office
The Career Support Office organizes career support seminars for international students several times a year.
These seminars cover topics such as how to conduct job hunting in Japan and the working environment and culture in Japan.
Career Counseling
Individual counseling is available for international students who wish to work or intern in Japan or those seeking employment at Japanese companies after returning to their home countries.
