Christmas Celebration with Tokyo Hino International College (Dec. 24)

Dec 24,2025

On December 24, 2025, we held a Christmas celebration at Sakura Hall on the Hino Campus in collaboration with international students from Tokyo Hino International College, a Japanese language school in Hino City.
The event opened with a humorous and lively performance by the teachers of the language school, immediately creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Following the opening, the students showcased performances including a Nepalese dance in traditional attire, as well as presentations by each class, captivating the audience with their talent and energy.
Although the students are busy studying Japanese while balancing part-time jobs, they had clearly practiced diligently and delivered truly impressive performances that left a deep impression on everyone.

The event also featured a performance by our long-established Japanese Dance Club, giving the international students an opportunity to experience traditional Japanese culture firsthand. The students watched with shining eyes, clearly fascinated by a cultural experience they would not normally have the chance to see.
The celebration provided a meaningful space for interaction among students from various countries, and we were reminded of the joy of intercultural exchange. Many attendees were impressed by the students’ fluent Japanese, which was remarkable for a second language, drawing admiration not only from fellow students but also from faculty and staff.

Towards the end of the event, students from our university and Tokyo Hino International College joined together to sing “365-nichi no Kamihikouki,” a popular Japanese song. Post-event surveys reflected the participants’ enjoyment, with many commenting that singing together was a highlight of the celebration.
Participants further deepened their connections while enjoying cakes, cookies, and traditional Japanese sweets, creating a joyful and heartwarming Christmas gathering. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with Tokyo Hino International College in 2026 and beyond, further strengthening opportunities for cultural exchange.
